Rob Blackhall is the Responsible Safeguarding Governor and acts on behalf of the Local Advisory Board of Governors. Rob meets with the staff team in a monitoring capacity at least once per term.  Rob will ensure that all actions undertaken conform to national and local requirements. Rob is NOT privy to any private, confidential or sensitive information.
 
Our Safeguarding Team
 
Kaye and Lynn meet weekly to discuss all matters relating to safeguarding. Any emerging issues are discussed as well as the team checking previously identified actions ensuring they have been undertaken. Any issues which arise between meetings are immediately assessed by at least 2 of the Staff Safeguarding Team.
 
Should an issue require speedy intervention, appropriate and timely action is taken.
 
 
 
Safeguarding Training
 
The team is experienced with all members having up to date Tier 3 training. Kaye and Lynn are qualified to deliver single agency staff training up to Tier 2. Team members have completed training in the following areas:
  • General Safeguarding
  • Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Safer Recruitment
  • Prevent (Anti Radicalisation Training)
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Training the Trainers
  • Female Genital Mutilation
  • Team Around the Child Training    
  
 
CIC/LAC pupils
 
Some pupils are not looked after by their natural parents and this can be for a variety of reasons. Sometimes this is a permanent arrangement and sometimes it is temporary. There are many reasons why children do not live with their parents and Robartes recognises this. We offer support in a variety of ways ensuring that no child is disadvantaged. 

The name for pupils who are not living with their parents changes from time to time. Looked After Children (LACs) and Children in Care (CICs) are the most common. In Robartes we support the individual needs of pupils regardless of their title.

 
 
Safeguarding Return
 
Each year the team complete a document known as Section 175. This document is submitted to the Local Authority who give feedback on the quality of the document. The Section 175 identifies key staff, their training and initiatives as well as development actions to be undertaken.
