Mr Rob Blackhall
Vice Chair of Governors joint body (Robartes & Beacon)
I have been a Governor at the Beacon Infant and Nursery School since 2014.  Before this I was a curriculum subject leader in a large Secondary School in Cornwall. Prior to my retirement, I have been working in education for more than 30 years. When I retired I decided to offer my services as a Governor because I have always enjoyed working, and believe that seeing young children develop their learning skills was a great privilege for me. I wanted to become a Governor at Robartes ACE Academy as I believe I have a lot to offer in terms of skills learnt as well as having an interest in further developing the links between the two schools for the good of the community.

Mrs. Emma Rawsthorne - Governor
I am mum to Poppy who is in Year 5. I moved to Bodmin from Bath just over 3 years ago. While I was in Bath I was the Clerk to the Governors of Poppy’s primary school so I have some working knowledge of how the Governing Body operates. I have a degree in Law and German and worked for a number of years in civil litigation. I’m good with the small print! I work part time in my own business. I am looking forward to joint working with our new governor group

I have a child at this school that recently transferred from another school in town where I was a Governor there for over 2 years. I was a member of their Finance and Health and Safety Sub Committees’ as I already work within a finance role for a local business, I am also responsible for Health and Safety at work. I have a proactive attitude to my own children’s education and I believe I can help them and other children in this role. I prefer to have a straight talking approach to any situation but I am also diplomatic and understanding to others opinions and will co-operate in group discussions.
